Week 18--Oh My Goodness--I KNOW that was it!

Well, it happened! I have been waiting and waiting--and everyone told me it would happen--and it did!! Let me explain:

It was Thursday and I was having an awful morning! Sometimes work just sucks--everyone's does from time to time, and this just happened to be one of those times. I hadn't been there for an hour and I was sitting at my desk frustrated and of course crying--hmm could my hormones be raging. . . :)
So there I am at my computer thinking about how much I really don't like our IT guy--and it happened. . .tap, tap, tap--just like that! I was so excited, I knew EXACTLY what that was!! It was the baby! It was't exactly what I had expected, since typically the first movement you feel is described as "flutters" and mine was more like "thumping"! But I know that was it, it wasn't gas--I'M SURE! I've felt little Thumper quite a few time since then--sometimes I just sit and wait for the little one to move, and sometimes it just sort of catches me off guard, and I grin--and no one knows why!

I'm sure the movement will become more constant soon enough, so for now I'm happy with my little reminders from time to time that there's someone in there that will soon be making an appearance!

Week 16 - Belly Update

Ok... I think I'm showing!

We are at week 16--that's right, 4 months. For those of you who are just now hearing this news--I'll give you a second to pick yourself up off the floor and come to the realization that the Conner's are, in fact, reproducing. . .

We had our 3rd doctor's visit today--and after a good 1 and a half hours of sitting in the waiting room w/ screaming children (I'm sure this is planned for conditioning new parents), we got to see an ACTUAL doctor (thus far we've only seen the nurse practitioner). Everything was "perfect, perfect, perfect"--which seems to be the only words we hear there, other than--"we're going to have to take some blood today"! So I'm thinking I must be really good at being pregnant, b/c I've never done ANYTHING "perfect, perfect, perfect"! We got to hear the heartbeat today--it was 151 bpm--very strong!

Things have been going well, and have been pretty uneventful so far. I'm getting a belly--and my belly button gets more and more shallow every day--I'm sure all of you are just so thrilled to know all of this! The excitement really picks up next month when we will have our 2nd and final ultrasound to find out the sex of Baby Conner. . . :)
